This is the Day…

It’s early May and the weather is finally warm enough to go outside without a jacket. Yeah!! The grass is that wonderful shade that I like to call Spring green. Trees are starting to produce tiny baby leaves that create almost a green translucent veil. The birds are singing. The sky is blue today with white, puffy clouds that I also like to call “happy” clouds because it makes me happy to have clear weather with warm sunshine. Some flowers are starting to bloom in other peoples’ yards. I have one lone blue Siberian Cilla blossoming.

These are my Mother's Day flowers from my 4 year old grandson
that I still have to plant.
There are very few bugs. In the evening I hear the frogs and “peepers” singing. The frogs croak seeking a mate. The peepers sound a little like tiny jingle bells. Again, another very happy sound. The “muddy season” has passed.

Spring is upon us. It is the time of new growth and a time to rejoice. In all days, God gives us reason to rejoice but today it is especially so. This day truly make my heart sing and praise my Maker who gave me all these gifts just to delight me. This doesn’t mean that my life is perfect. I have as many issues as everyone else, but I choose to put them aside and enjoy this day with all the JOY that my Sweet Lord has given me and say

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Will you join me and celebrate this glorious day?

May God bless you greatly, my friend.

A recent picture of the moon.
God has placed so much beauty here for us to enjoy.

Prayer Requests:
There is so much turmoil in this world, so much hate and strife.  So many people have been hurt and killed as a result.  Please pray for all the victims and all the ones who seek to hurt others.  Pray that God change all our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh so we can truly love our brothers as we love ourselves.

I would also appreciate your prayers for me.  I will have a total knee replacement of my left knee tomorrow.  Thank you.

I usually post every other Saturday.
Lately I have been very busy with Grandma duties on weekends
so I may try to post during the week.

A couple of recent golden sunsets from different days.
I live where I get to see a beautiful sunset many days
if I only choose to look in the right direction.
I think life is like that.
We can find beauty and goodness
                                           in almost any situation,
if we choose to look in the right direction.

And the Clouds Parted

The clouds are gray and threatening.
It’s been raining.
The wind blows leaves hither and yon.

My mood is down-cast.
So much is happening
So many problems at home and in the world
So many issues to deal with.
Sometimes it’s over-whelming.

And the clouds parted.
The sun shone through.
The sky is still gray with patches of blue

But the day brightens
My mood brightens

My father is telling me that regardless of how dark my life becomes, He is with me always, beside me, helping with all my problems, with all life’s issues.

He says “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5
He never has and never will.

I am never alone.

He has a plan for me, a plan to help and not to hurt me – or you.

Be blessed, my friend.

This is the day the Lord had made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

God gives us rainbows to remind us
that He walks with us through each of life's trials.

Happy New Year dear friend.
It's the time to reflect on what happened in 2018 and think about what we would like to accomplish in 2019.  I would encourage you to pray and ask God what He would like you to accomplish in 2019.
Your true happiness and fulfillment will come when you are working with your Father and living the life that He has planned for you.  I wish that happiness and fulfillment for you and that 2019 is your best year yet.

I'll close with a beautiful sunset.
I am so blessed that God has planted me in a beautiful area
and that He sets up wonderful scenery for me to photograph.
When I look at His wonderful sunsets,
God seems to be saying "See you in the morning, child.
                                         Tomorrow is a new day,
wait till you see the plans I have for you.

The Pieces of My Life

Sometimes my life feels like a jumbled jigsaw puzzle
with no picture and no directions
               - until I look to my Father and His guidebook, the Bible.

Here are my pieces, Lord.

Here are the pieces of my life,
the pieces of my family and my friends,
with health, relationships and all the other issues.

Here are the pieces of my church
with all our issues, needs and prayers.

Here are the pieces of my country
So many issues, Lord.
So many problems
So many people trying to do their best
and then there are the others, Lord

Here are the pieces that don’t fit into any category

I give you all my pieces, Father.

I know you will sort them out and make sense of them.

When you are done, this puzzle will be a masterpiece
because You know the best way to put everything together
and how to make sense of it all.

Only Your way is best.

Only Your time is right.

It can only be Your will, not mine, Father.

And the pieces will fit perfectly!

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.   Matthew 7:7

Picture was taken at Fobare's near Chase Mills, NY.
When I give all my problems to my Father,
He will handle them and make everything right
                                    - in the end.

Prayer Requests:  Please pray for all the less fortunate, especially those in Alaska where there are earthquakes, those in the war torn zones, the refugees who are seeking asylum at our Mexican border, those guarding the border and all those in need.  There are so many needs in our world and the only good answers are from our Father.

Our Father is the light through the trees.

He is the shelter in the storm.
He doesn't take all our problems away
but He helps us find a way through them
and guides us to the solution
               -when we turn to Him.

He is the glorious sunset at the end of the day.

This is the Day!

This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!  Psalm 118:24
My 4 year old grandson Mark and I took a ride to see the beautiful day and take pictures.  We stopped at a playground in Waddington, NY.  Here Mark jumps for joy, just to be alive and enjoy the day. Our Lord wishes us to become like little children, to jump for joy and to delight in Him and all He has done for us.

Something startled the Canada geese and they took flight.  On a day like this one and every day, my heart takes flight when I see the wonders that God has made for my delight.

A ship traveling somewhere between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic.  This part is the St. Lawrence River.

There is still some beautiful color on the trees at Brandy Brook at the McGuinnes Road Waddington, NY.

There is so much beauty to be see around each bend in the road if we are looking.  (McGuinness Road)

The beauty that the Lord has created
              makes my heart sing.
This photo was taken at Fobares near Waddington, NY.

I zoomed in on still brilliant trees across a mown field.

                                                      More of Fobares

                                                   More of Fobares
Did God compose this just for me to find today?
How many other JOYS
are waiting around the next bend,
waiting for me to say:
This is the day the Lord hath made, let us  rejoice and be glad in it!  Psalm 118:24

As all grandparents know, there is nothing more special than our grandchildren, especially when they are being silly.  I believe that God also delights in us, who are His children. Especially when we are enjoying His wonderful creation.

O How I Need You, Father

Just as the earth needs the warmth of the sun to survive,
I need the love and the grace of my Father.

Every moment of every day
And every step along the way

I need You so badly.

I need You to breathe.
I need You to walk.
I need You for all the parts of me to function.

I need You to help me with my pains and with my troubles.

I need You to hold the stars and the moon in place, so I can delight in them at night.

I need you to make the sun shine to warm me and to make the grass, the flowers and the food grow, to feed my body and my soul.

I need You to hold this wonderful world in Your loving hands and keep all its parts functioning properly to house me, until I go to heaven.

I need You to correct what is wrong in this world, so it works the way You meant it to.

I need You to direct me, to do my part to make it work right.

I ask You to make me, Your hands, Your feet and Your mouth to do Your work.

I ask You to touch me and whatever I do in a mighty way to give You all honor and glory and to spread Your love.

I humbly ask You to forgive me for all the things I do wrong. I am well aware that my sins are many and happen every day. Without Your love, mercy and grace I would be absolutely lost.

I thank You Loving Father, for the people You have put in my life. I am so blessed with wonderful family and friends.

I ask that You teach me how to treat them as You would treat them and to bring Your Love and Your Word to them by my words and actions.

I need even more than I can even think of or be aware of.

You know everything I need, and You always provide.

I thank You so much for always being in my life, even when I didn’t know that I needed You.

Thank You so much and Blessed Be Your Most Holy Name.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:1-5

Photo taken last spring near Saranac Lake, NY.
The beauty of this sunny day
makes my heart sing praise to the Lord.

On a yummy note:  Keep June 14 available for the Strawberry Shortcake Dinner at Knapps Station Community Church.
It is a dinner not to be missed!

Prayer request:  My dear friends, please pray for the people of Puerto Rico.  They are our American brothers and sisters who are still suffering terribly from the effects of Hurricane Maria which hit them in 2017.  4645 souls have died since then!  The island is still in a shambles and the new hurricane season has begun.  If you are able to do more than pray, I humbly ask you to do whatever you can to help.

There but for the grace of God could be any one of us.

May God bless you greatly for whatever you are able to do!

The next post will be on June 16, 2018.

This Johnny Jump Up is growing outside my garden.
I didn't plant it there but I am enjoying it anyhow.
We all need to remember to bloom where we are planted,
even when it isn't where we think we should be.
God puts us where we need to be.
